DUI for Driver who Hit DOT Sign, Utility Pole and Stone Wall

On July 3rd around noon Greenwich Police responded to a collision in the area of Indian Head Road in Riverside.

Investigation revealed that a driver, Ramiro Pelico, 32, of Port Chester, had crashed into a CT Dept of Transportation sign and utility pole before leaving the scene without leaving information and then crashing into a stone wall. At that point the car was disabled.

Police say they detected the odor of alcoholic beverage on Mr. Pelico, who was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

He was charged with Evading Responsibility, DUI and two counts of Failure to Drive in Proper Lane.

Pelico was able to post his $1,000 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 14, 2021.
