DUI for Driver Who Drove Down Sidewalk and Crashed into Stonewall

On April 8 around 9:00pm Greenwich Police spotted a car being operated erratically in the parking lot of Christ Church on East Putnam Ave. Police spotted the car travel down the sidewalk and collide with a stone wall.

Through further investigation, it was determined that the driver, Chris Nyanteh, 31, of Stamford, had red glassy eyes, and could not answer officers’ questions. He had slurred speech and was extremely disoriented.

Mr. Nyanteh was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard and was charged with DUI. His bond was set at $500, which he was able to post. H was release and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 7, 2021.

Police say Nyanteh also had a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court. Bond for that was set at $25,000, which he was able to post.
