On Sunday Aug 25 around 3:ooam Greenwich Police officers on patrol observed a gray Ford Escape straddle the solid double yellow lines on East Putnam Avenue approaching Laddins Rock Rd.
Upon reaching a red traffic signal on East Putnam Ave at Laddins Rock Rd, the Escape accelerated east through the stop light without stopping and entered the city of Stamford.
A motor vehicle stop was conducted on West main Street at Alvord Ln in Stamford where the driver, Ruben Galarza, 35, of Norwalk presented with glassy, red eyes and smelled of alcohol
Galarza was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard. He was charged with DUI, Failure to Maintain Lane and Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 9,2 019. He was released on$250 bond.
