On Friday around 9:00pm a driver plowed into multiple cars on Mead Ave in Byram.
On Monday, Lt Smyth from Greenwich Police Dept explained that a DUI operator crashed into four parked vehicles.
Lt Smyth said a quick search revealed there were approximately 8 other reported crashes on all of Mead Ave in the 5 last years with 2 of them involving DUI.
Byram resident Liz Eckert shared a comment after the incident Friday night.
“I appreciate the very quick response from Greenwich Police. However, the lack of visible police presence and parking enforcement is a real problem in Byram,” Eckert said. “Daily I am almost T-boned by people running the Delavan Ave light at intersection of Mead Ave. Cars are parked illegally – often for days at a time. There is a lack of parking rule signage at our crosswalks and stop signs. It is truly the wild west over here.”
