Driver Charged with DUI after Hitting a Car & Stone Planter in Hyatt Parking Lot

Greenwich Police responded to the Hyatt Hotel located at 1800 E Putnam Avenue on the report of a hit and run on Dec. 19 at about 11:00pm.

According to the police report, the driver fled toward Stamford and the car was found in the parking lot of 2046 W. Main Street, where Stamford Police had spotted the driver, Rodrigo Lugo, 29, of 51 Montague St in Yonkers attempting to hide in the shopping center.

Officers on scene detected the odor of alcoholic type beverages on Lugo’s breath. He submitted to standardized field sobriety tests, which he was unable to perform to standard.

He was charged with Evading Responsibility and DUI.

Lugo’s bond was set at $500, which he was unable to post.  He was assigned a court date in Stamford Superior Court in Jan. 4, 2015.
