Connecticut State Police announced that on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at approximately 2:47am, a Trooper was conducting a traffic stop on I-95 Northbound in the area of Exit 5.
The Trooper was seated in his stationary cruiser with its overhead emergency lights activated when an unknown tractor trailer drove by the location of the traffic stop. While the tractor trailer was driving by, a tire from its trailer became dislodged and struck the rear end of the cruiser.
No injuries reported as a result.
