Connecticut State Troopers Seek Witnesses to Greenwich Friday Morning Fatal Accident at Exit 5

On Friday around 1:44am, CT State Police Troop G received 911 calls about a crash on I-95 northbound in the area of Exit 5 in Old Greenwich.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Mustang with CT plates was driven by Colin Kennedy, 46, of Stamford was traveling northbound in the right lane prior to exit 5 when he drifted into the right shoulder striking the metal beam guardrail. The Mustang then veered across all lanes of travel striking the concrete median barrier. The car spun out in the left lane.

A second car, a 2019 Infiniti driven by Stamford resident Karina Larreategui, 39, was also headed north in the left lane and struck the Mustang head on.

Mr. Kennedy was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at about 2:30am.

The driver of the Infiniti, Ms Larreategui, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Stamford Hospital by Greenwich EMS. Notification to next of kin was made.
