Cocaine Possession Charges follow Christmas Eve Motor Vehicle Stop

Greenwich Police stopped a car on East Putnam Ave for driving without headlights illuminated on Christmas eve at about 9:30pm. The driver, Kevin Crawford, 49, of 10 Berge St, had slurred speech and the odor of alcohol on his breath.

Crawford was unable to complete standardized sobriety tests and was arrested. A search of Crawford subsequent to his arrest revealed a small fold with a white powdery substance in his pants pocket later determined to be Cocaine.

Crawford was charged with DUI, Failure to Illuminate Headlights and Illegal Possession. He posted $250 bond and has a court date at Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 6, 2015.
