Byram Man Arrested for Cruelty to Animals after Kicking His Pit Bull Three Times

Greenwich Police cars, newOn Saturday, Dec. 13 around 5:00pm, Lavar J Ferguson of 14 North Water Street in Byram was arrested for Cruelty to Animals and Disorderly Conduct after police responded to a report of a man with a pit bull type dog yelling at passing motorists and pedestrians.

When police arrived Ferguson, 37, was in the 2nd floor apartment at 14 North Water St. Further investigation revealed Ferguson’s dog had run away, though he was later returned by a neighborhood friend.

When the neighbor returned the dog to the residence, Ferguson became extremely upset with the dog and began to scream at it and kicked the dog in the side of the ribs three times. He was arrested for Cruelty to Animals and Disorderly Conduct.

Ferguson has a court date at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 22, 2014. He was released on $10,000 bond.
