Broken Tail Light Leads to DUI Arrest

Around 6:30pm on Thursday Greenwich Police officers noticed a vehicle traveling west on West Putnam Avenue with non functioning brake light. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it failed to come to a stop for several blocks.

Once the vehicle did stop, the driver, identified as Jeffrey McCarroll, 48, of Azalin Court in Broad Brook, CT, was observed to have glassy blood shot eyes and the odor of alcoholic beverage.

McCarroll was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

He was arrested and charged with DUI and Improper Stop/Turn Signal Lamp. His bond was set at $250, which he was able to post.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 12, 2018.
