On Sunday, July 20, 2026, at approximately 12:38AM, Stamford Police responded to Stamford Hospital on the report of a male suffering from a serious jaw injury.
Officers determined that the assault had occurred at a downtown Stamford bar.
The victim, who is also the owner of the establishment, reported that he had removed a male patron from the bar after the individual had been harassing staff and other customers. A short time later, the suspect returned through a rear entrance and allegedly stabbed the victim in the face with a sharp object before fleeing the scene.
The victim was treated at Stamford Hospital, where he received 16 stitches for his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance footage and, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, released a still image of the suspect on the Stamford Police Department’s Facebook and Instagram pages, requesting the public’s assistance in identifying him.
The response from the community was immediate. Detectives received numerous tips and phone calls, which led to the identification of the suspect as Sebastian Mardirossian (DOB: 01/27/1990).

Detectives subsequently conducted a photographic lineup, during which the victim positively identified Mardirossian as the individual responsible for the assault.
Based on the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Mardirossian with Assault in the Second Degree, Breach of Peace, and Criminal Trespass.
Detectives contacted Mardirossian and requested that he surrender. On Monday, July 27, 2026, he voluntarily turned himself in at Stamford Police Headquarters, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was processed and held on a $75,000 court-set bond.
