April is National Distracted Drivers Month; GPD to Watch for Drivers on Cell Phones

Greenwich Police shared their stats for the St. Patrick’s holiday weekend.

Police noted that traffic safety is among the top concerns of the public, especially around holidays like St. Patrick’s Day.

This past weekend, while many enjoyed parades and parties, Greenwich Police Officers were busy at work.

In addition to answering 426 calls for service, Greenwich Police officers made 92 motor vehicle stops, 4 DWI arrests, and investigated 11 motor vehicle crashes, two of which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

Spring arrives Tuesday night, and along with it more people will be enjoying the outdoors.

Greenwich Police are committed to making the Town as safe as possible and will be joining with other law-enforcement agencies across the country in Traffic Safety.

Greenwich Police noted in their announcement that April is National Distracted Drivers month and along with their partners they will be paying close attention to people talking on hand held cell phones and engaging in other distracted driving activities.
