Greenwich Police stopped a GMC Sierra with a suspended registration on Delavan Ave on Feb 5.
Around 7:00pm stopped the car in the area of I95 Exit 2 in Byram.
Upon investigation the driver, later identified as Erick Whitehead, 32, of Weston, was exhibiting signs of alcohol or drug impairment.
Mr. Whitehead was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.
During a search of the vehicle incident to arrest for evidence of alcohol consumption, police found a “dirk” knife an a police style metal baton near the driver seat, both easily accessible to Mr. Whitehead.
The knife and baton were both seized as evidence.
Whitehead was charged with two counts of Illegal Possession of Weapon in Motor Vehicle, DUI and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
He was released after posting the required 7% of his $350.00 bond and has a date in Stamford superior Court on Feb 16, 2024.
