After Crash, Police Charge Driver Slumped over Steering Wheel, Unconscious

On Sept 12 around around 2:00pm, Greenwich Police were detailed to the area of 25 Lockwood Drive in Old Greenwich on a report of a car that crashed into a mailbox on Edgewater Drive and fled.

Police were able to find the car, a 2014 Toyota Scion XB, less than a quarter mile away. According to Greenwich Police the driver was unconscious and unresponsive, slumped over the steering wheel of the car, which was still running.

Upon waking the driver, later identified as Brian Dorsi, 32, of West Haven, he was observed to be under the influence of a narcotic and/or alcohol and had fresh damage to the front left of his vehicle.

According to Lt John Slusarz police found numerous folds of powdery substance packaged as if for sale. Slusarz said police no longer do field testing, but rather send to the state lab for testing in Meriden if the courts request it.

Dorsi failed to perform field sobriety tests to standard. He was charged with Evading Responsibility, DUI, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane  and Possession of Controlled Substance.

His bond was set at $500, which he posted. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 26, 2018.
