1998 DUI Haunts Greenwich Man Charged with Another DUI 22 Years Later

On November 29, 2019 Greenwich Police stopped a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee driving erratically on Weaver Street around 2:00am.

Police determined that the driver, identified as Vincent Arias, 47, who provided a White Plains NY address, was unable to care for himself. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Subsequent investigation determined that Mr. Arias had been intoxicated. Police applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for Arias for DUI.

Then, on Friday Jan 17, when Greenwich Police Dept officers went to the Greenwich residence of Mr. Arias on John Street to serve the arrest warrant for the November DUI, it was determined that he also had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear 2 in connection to a DUI Arrest in Bridgeport stemming all the way back to February 1998.

Greenwich Police Lt John Slusarz said Mr. Arias has two addresses – one on Oakley Ave in White Plains, NY and one in Greenwich on John Street, where Greenwich Police served the warrant.

Mr. Arias was additionally charged with Failure to Appear 2. His  bond was set at $500, which he was able to post. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 31, 2020.
