Do you ever hear your mom’s voice in your head, telling you something specific? ‘Like, Lauren, do not bring the food to the table in a pot like that when you have guests. Use a beautiful dish.’
Or do you hear yourself talking to your children precisely like your Mother did to you? “I’m counting to ten, and then I’m getting your father involved!”
Near or far, on earth or in heaven, a mother’s love is eternal. It is one of the most potent forms of love and stays with you for your entire life.
This Mother’s Day, we wanted to honor our moms by compiling a list titled “words of advice from our Mothers.”
You know what we are talking about, the words you hear in your head when you do something your mom would disapprove of, or the terms of encouragement you remember hearing growing up that always made you feel better, or the stellar life advice she has given you. These words are certainly words to live by as they come from a place of protection, guidance, and out of a mother’s love.

To all of the moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day! Now, more than ever, we need to be celebrated.
We’ve always been able to multi-task and get it all done, but now with more added to our plates, like being a teacher, a therapist, a short-order 24/7 diner chef, to name a few. Make today about YOU, and do not feel guilty about it.
And to my Mother, who under normal circumstances, I would get to hug on this day and celebrate with a delicious brunch. Happy Mother’s Day! Words could never fully express how much you mean to me. You are the first person I want to tell when something exciting happens, and the one that I need a hug from the most when I’m sad. You’ve taught me to be kind, polite, respectful, hardworking, understanding, giving, and most importantly, the best mom that I can be. I love you!
Abraham Lincoln said it best, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my mother.”
Cheers to the mommas,
The Momtourage
P.S. A very special thank you to everyone who shared their own Mother’s words of wisdom with us. We are so grateful.
