Project Zero, whose motto is ‘Build Smart – Build net-Zero,” is circulating a petition to town leaders urging them all to back a Net Zero future for Greenwich Schools.

The petition, which is directed to Greenwich Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones, members of the Board of Estimate and Taxation, Blaize Levitan/Chief Operating Officer of Greenwich Schools, members of the Greenwich Board of Education, Director of Facilities for Greenwich Schools Dan Watson and the leaders of the OGS, JC and CMS building committees, urges the leaders not to let Greenwich’s chance for a fossil-free future slip away.

Learn how town leadership is making poor choices for our wallets, our health and our planet by choosing polluting technologies over clean energy solutions for school buildings,” they said. “Make your voice heard for healthy, carbon-free schools by signing this petition and share it with 10 friends.”

Here is the link to the petition.

The petitioners say that Greenwich Public Schools accounted for 49.3% of total town greenhouse gas emissions in 2022, but that Net Zero Energy schools provide efficient, renewable energy, like solar and geothermal, and lighting systems that are carbon free.
