Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month: Greenwich YWCA Presents “In Their Shoes”

In recognition of February being Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, YWCA Greenwich presents “In Their Shoes.”

This is an immersive event exploring teen relationships. Participants will find themselves “in the shoes of” characters experiencing various forms of relationship abuse. These forms range from sexting, pregnancy, homophobia, and stalking. They also will navigate through this event by making choices based on interactions with their dating partner, family, friends, counselors, and others.

“Compared to adults, teenagers are three times more likely to be involved in relationships that are unhealthy, abusive or violent. That’s why it’s so important to have conversations with teens about which relationship behaviors are healthy, and which behaviors are hurtful,” said Rosie Enyart, YWCA
Greenwich Violence Prevention Coordinator.

“In Their Shoes” will be held on February 28, 2022, at 6:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public and will be held over Zoom. This event will make a great experience for teens, parents, anyone who used to be a teenager, and anyone who cares about young people.
