Greenwich’s Spirit All-Stars Too Senior 3 Diamondites Win National Championship at Spirit Festival

On March 11 and 12, the Spirit Zone Too all-star cheer teams competed in the Spirit Festival Nationals, one of the largest all-star cheerleading national championships in the Northeast.

The competition was held at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT and more than 300 teams from all over the northeast competed at this championship event for the national title.

The Senior Level 3 Diamondites placed first in their division, earning them a national championship title.  The team was also awarded the “Cutting Edge Award” for Innovative Choreography.  The team is made up of 15 female athletes, ages 11-17, from New York and Connecticut.  This is the first year any of these athletes are competing in the Level 3 division.  Together, they have worked tirelessly since June, overcoming many obstacles, and this championship title is a testament to the dedication of not only the girls, but also their amazing coaches.

The Youth Level 2 Emeraldites, Youth Level 1 Prep Malachites, Mini Level 1 Prep Morganites and the Special Needs Team Alexandrites also competed at Spirit Fest this past weekend.

The Emeraldites, who are competing in the Level 2 division for the first time this season, performed brilliantly both days, with a perfect routine on day 2 that earned them 3rd place in a very competitive division.  Malachites took second place, also against some very tough competition, and the Mini Morganites took third place.  The Alexandrites brought the house down with a standing ovation from the crowd and earned a National Championship.
