Greenwich YMCA Divers Take Gold, Bronze Medals at Synchronized Diving National Championships

When the country’s best junior and senior synchronized diving teams descended on Atlanta in April, three local YMCA Marlins divers were among them.

Annie Bingle (Greenwich, CT), Carolina Sculti (Rye, NY), and Veronica Fyfe (Hillsdale, NJ) traveled to Atlanta to compete for national titles in the 1-meter and 3-meter synchronized springboard competitions.

Sculti and her partner Anne Fowler (Alexandria Dive Club, VA) came out on top in the Girls 14-18 3-meter springboard competition, successfully defending their national title. Sculti and Fowler’s gold medal win qualified them for the 2017 Pan American Games in Victoria, Canada this September.

Bingle and Fyfe took the bronze medal in the Girls 13 and under 3-meter springboard competition in their synchro diving nationals debut.

The competition venue was the McAuley Aquatic Center at Georgia Tech, home to the aquatic events at the 1996 Olympic Games.
