777 West Putnam Ave Sells for $48 Million

When last we reported on 777 West Putnam Ave, “The Greenwich Gateway Building,” it was in 2017 when a 120 unit building development was proposed. During public P&Z hearing neighbors testified that the area was prone to flooding.

The property features an office building and 485 parking spaces. At the time of the proposal for 120 units, many surface parking spots were leased to local car dealerships including Jeep and Mercedes.

The development never materialized.

On August 26, 2022, the property sold for $48 million. The sale was divided into two parts:

777 Putnam Partners LLC to Shelborne 777 Holdings for $29,793,000

777 West Putnam Ave LLC to 777 Putnam Partners LLC  for $18,372,350

The three-story 36,000 sq ft office building was built in 1979. It served as headquarters to Nestlé Waters North America until the company relocated to Stamford in 2009.
