Steven Lee Francefort passed away at Greenwich Hospital surrounded by his family and friends on August 22, 2024, at the age of 69 due to complications from cancer.
Born and raised in Cos Cob, he was the loving son of Douglas and Eleanore Francefort. With the help of his parents, Steve became an Eagle Scout with Troop 10 on April 11, 1972.
He graduated from Norwalk State Technical College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, then spent 37 years working for Pitney Bowes, retiring as Operations Manager. On October 18, 1980, Steve married the love of his life, Pamela (Rutledge) Francefort, and lived in Greenwich for the past 44 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed working at Sportsman’s Den in Cos Cob.
Steve was an active member of the CCVFC#1 for 50 years, serving as president for 40 years. Steve was a man with many hobbies, including raising chickens, ducks, turkeys and goats. He loved fishing, gardening, shooting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Pam, his children Erin (Doug) Kates and Brian (Ashley) Francefort, his mother Eleanore Francefort, his grandchildren Hunter, Emma and Abigail Kates and Jack Francefort, his brother David Francefort, a sister, many nieces and nephews including Eric Peterson, and his friends, the Freccia’s, who have been more like family. He was predeceased by his father Douglas Francefort.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30 from 4:00-8:00pm at Castiglione Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 31 at 10:00am at Castiglione Funeral Home, followed by the burial at Putnam Cemetery.
