Robert Louis Guerrieri Sr, 88

Robert Louis Guerrieri Sr., a lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away January 4, 2026, at 88 years old. He was born in Greenwich on November 18, 1937, to Jerry and Rose (Mancini) Guerrieri.

Bob attended Greenwich High School where he played football. He went on to play at Fairmont State College in Virginia and then played semi-pro football with the Stamford Golden Bears.

He then served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1967. After serving in the army, he spent 34 years in the book publishing business. During that time, he worked with notable celebrities such as President Richard Nixon, Jim Brown, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Simmons and many more.

Bob was devoted to his family and loved to be surrounded by them. For many years he coached several youth football teams in Greenwich and later coached his grandchildren in Darien. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandsons play football and baseball.

He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife of 51 years, Eleanor (Valerioti) Guerrieri. He is survived by his children, Lynn O’Malley (Seamus) and Robert Guerrieri Jr. (Jody). Affectionately known as “Pop” by his grandchildren, Kaila Barrett (Matt), Michael O’Malley (Milan), Sean O’Malley, Alexa Guerrieri (fiancé Pat Maloney), Blake Guerrieri, Harley Guerrieri and Logan Guerrieri, and great grandson Ford Barrett. Bob was predeceased by his brothers Don and Jerry Guerrieri.

The Guerrieri Family is very grateful to Anthony McBride for his love and support over the past year.

A Memorial Mass will be held in Bob’s honor on Thursday January 8 at 11:00am at St. Catherine of Siena in Riverside, CT.
