John Bocchino passed away peacefully on May 14, 2022. Born June 12, 1933 in Port Chester, NY to Gaetano Bocchino (Tommy) and Santina (Maietta) Bocchino, where he grew up until his family moved to Greenwich (Byram), CT. He was an accountant by profession and an officer of Rubino Bros. in Stamford, CT.
John leaves behind his beloved wife Marie and his three daughters Maria Bocchino, Christine Anarumo (Pat), and Linda Carroll (Jim). Also, his grandchildren from which he received much pride and joy; John DeBeradinis (Sonia), Lisa Schacter (Mike), Daniel DeBeradinis, Danielle DiMasi (Derek), Michael Anarumo, Laura Stasio, Robert Carroll, and his three great grandchildren Sadie, Bo, and Mina. He was pre-deceased by daughter Sandy Frangione and brother Herbert Bocchino.
John was a 64-year member of the Stamford YMCA, an enthusiastic tennis player, a world traveler and avid reader. Until his retirement in 2020, he enjoyed his daily breakfasts at the Stamford Marriott Restaurant and later on at the City Limits Diner. He loved Wednesday lunches with his friends and Sunday’s at Island Beach. Most importantly, John loved to be with his family and friends celebrating anything and everything.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, in Byram, CT, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Darien, CT.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Stamford YMCA.
