James P. Sexton III passed away at home after a brief illness surrounded by his family on July 4, 2019. He was 81.
He was born in Greenwich on April 2, 1938 to the late James P. Sr. and Marie T. (nee Skogstrom) Sexton.
He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Ellen (nee Moore) (d. June 7, 2017.)
James was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grammar School and Greenwich High School 55’.
He attended Fordham University and served in the US Navy as radioman 2nd class.
He had a distinguished 45-year career in finance and credit management working with State National Bank of Conn, and Ford Motor Credit. He also worked at The American Thread Co. and served two years as president of the NY Credit & Finance Association.
He retired on St Patrick’s Day 2006.
He is survived by his children, James P. Sexton III, Tara (husband George) Archer, Kitty (husband Jimmy) Brown and Maura Sexton, and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Ryan and Shane Sexton, George Jr. and Annie Archer, Jake and Matthew Brown.
