Ferdinando Schiro, of Greenwich, passed away May 1, 2023, at age 91.
He was born December 16, 1931 in Bolognetta, Sicily, Italy to Giuseppe and Concetta Schiro.
He immigrated to the United States in the early 1960’s and he settled in the Bronx. A landscaper by trade, he began working in Greenwich and set his goal to move his family, which he proudly did in 1983.
Ferdinando was a hardworking man who founded Fred Schiro Landscaping. Gardening was his passion; he’d spend much time pruning boxwoods and tending to his roses.
A dedicated family man, he leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Francesca Schiro, his cherished children, Concetta Michel (Eric), Joseph Schiro (Emilia) and Vincent Schiro (Maria), and dear grandchildren, Steven, Francesca and Daniel Michel, Ferdinando and Joseph Schiro, and Michael and Alex Schiro. He is also the dear brother of Cira Novi and of the twin siblings Ciro Schiro (Elena) and Rosalia Salerno. He is also the the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 11am at St. Paul’s RC Church followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
