Alicia Marie DeRicco, 33

Alicia Marie DeRicco of Cos Cob sadly passed away on December 11, 2023.

She was born on June 6, 1990, to Steven DeRicco & Sabina Filc DeRicco. Alicia was an exceptional young woman, a scholar-athlete, and an inspiration to those who knew her.

She attended Greenwich High School and graduated with high honors. Alicia played violin in the Greenwich High School Orchestra.

When not with her friends, Alicia served as a lifeguard at Greenwich Point Beach and the Greenwich YWCA.

She played for her school soccer team and the Greenwich Soccer Association.

She attended Iona University, graduating with high honors in both the undergraduate and graduate accounting programs.

She interned with the accounting department of USI, a multinational insurance company. USI would later become a client of hers.

After graduation, she joined PKF O’Conner Davies LLP as a Certified Public Accountant and rose to the level of Audit Manager. She was dedicated to her firm, where she was respected for her work ethic and conscientiousness toward clients and colleagues.

Alicia had a deep love of nature inspired early in life by visits to the family farm in the Catskill Mountains. As an avid hiker, she trekked the trails of the U.S. and Canadian National Parks with her family. The nearby Appalachian Trail in NY and VT were her regular favorites. Alicia was a free spirit with a kind heart, she believed in social justice and was committed to helping others. She worked professionally with Covenant House and on weekends would prepare and serve meals at the Stamford Soup Kitchen.

Alicia is survived by her devoted parents, Steven and Sabina; her loving brother, Matthew; grandmother, Teresa; her uncles, Salvatore and Joseph; Aunt Denice and caring cousins.

Family and friends will gather in Alicia’s honor on Wednesday, Dec 20, from 9:00 to 11:30 am at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave in Greenwich, (203-869-5968). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 12:00 pm in St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 84 Sherwood Ave in Greenwich.
