DPW: Roadwork Moratorium Begins November 21, 2022

For public convenience and to accommodate the additional traffic expected during the holiday shopping season, a Roadwork Moratorium will be in effect Monday, November 21, 2022, through Monday, January 2, 2023 in the downtown Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Byram, and Glenville central business districts.

During this period roadway openings, excavations, blocking or restricting public sidewalks, or parking spaces will not be permitted, except for emergency work.

“Department of Public Works issues these roadwork restrictions to minimize construction related traffic impacts on retail merchants and customers in our Town’s vibrant shopping districts during the busy holiday season,” said Peter Kurpeawski, Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works Highway Superintendent.

The Department of Public Works is committed to providing a variety of services that are of vital importance to the town and residents of Greenwich. This includes but is not limited to highway/roadway maintenance, sewer management, stormwater management, waste disposal and recycling, building inspection and the improvement of public infrastructure.
