This summer the Cos Cob post office was temporarily closed due to environmental concerns.
During the suspension, the Postal Service transferred retail and PO box operations to the Downtown Greenwich Post Office on Amogerone Crossway in Greenwich, and retail services have been available at the Greenwich Post Office on at Valley Drive.

This week State Rep Steve Meskers wrote constituents to say his office reached out to Congressman Himes’ office, which promptly took action and contacted the appropriate USPS representatives.
“We are very pleased to share the good news that we have been informed that the Cos Cob Post Office is expected to reopen very soon,” Meskers wrote, adding, “We are grateful to Congressman Himes and his staff for their prompt attention and assistance in helping address this important concern for the Cos Cob community.”
