Portolano, a fashion accessory company, is holding its second pop-up sale in Connecticut featuring fine and fashionable leather gloves, small leather goods, and knitwear made from cashmere and other blends. Think hats, scarves, neck-warmers, throws, wraps and gloves now that the weather has turned and holiday shopping has begun in earnest. Items include women’s, men’s, babies and kids.
This year, in addition to samples, Portolano will add 100% cashmere items in a wide variety of colors.
The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford will receive 10% of proceeds in the form of a donation.
Don’t miss this sale: Dec 13, 14 and 15 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. It was a huge success last year.
The story of Portolano began as a glove producer in Naples when Fortunato Portolano began manufacturing in 1895. The company was a pioneer of the Italian glove export business, and as early as 1911, Portolano was selling leather gloves to the United States and the British colonies.
With advances in technology, and high standards for quality and styling developed by the family, the brand has become a leading name in the world of cold weather accessories manufacturing.
Today, the fourth generation of Portolanos – Vittorio, Francesca, Federica and Fabiana – are proud to continue the business their great grandfather established.
“We are known for our great selection of colors and a huge range of styles,” said Federica Portolano. “We manufacture cold weather accessories such as hats, scarves, knit gloves, leather gloves, home accessories (blankets, slippers, ropes) and travel sets.”
Federica said prices will again be discounted at the sample sale up to 80% off retail, and shoppers will want to stock up on one-of-a-kind samples of cashmere and blends gloves, hats, scarves, ponchos, sweaters, leather gloves, home accessories, Italian hosiery and ties, and much more, with prices ranging from $7 to $60.
And, she said, new this year, in addition to samples, there will be a wide variety of 100% cashmere items in multiple colors.
“People know us for our cashmere,” she said.
All sales are final. No returns or exchanges. Credit cards only, no big bags allowed on premises.
The three day event will be held at the Stamford Boys & Girls Club, 347 Stillwater Ave in Stamford, CT 06902. From Greenwich take Palmer Hill or exit 6 off I95 to Harvard Ave and then West Ave.
