Derek D’Andrea and his crew at Arch in Bloom have outdone themselves. Again! The store and grounds at 201 Pemberwick Road are bursting with seasonal plants and extensive decorations for Halloween.
What’s new this year? A haunted house. Yes, and expect to be scared by the animatronics. There is a fierce pirate, Frankenstein, witches, skeletons and aliens.
Make sure to add Arch in Bloom’s annual Pumpkins & Pints event to your calendars: Saturday, Oct 12, from 12:00 pm to 6:00pm.
This event has become a tradition where friends and neighbors enjoy live music with a great Bluegrass band Derek describes as “very Octoberfest,” hot dogs, pretzels, burgers, pies and apple cider. Also seasonal local beer, pumpkin painting, seasonal plants, pumpkins, and gifts in the retail shop.
Parking is available across the street at 200 Pemberwick.

Doug Chavarria at Arch in Bloom gave a preview of the spooky haunted house, which he was proud to have helped create. In fact the team started working on the project back in July!
An artist himself, Chavvaria used acrylic paint to bring the Pirate scene to life in the haunted house.
“I collaborated with Derek. We did a pencil sketch and then he gave me the freedom to make it as whimsical and immersive as I could,” he explained.
The results are impressive.
Arch in Bloom’s haunted house, “Halloween Town,” is open all day on weekends and after school.
Also, the grounds at Arch in Bloom are bursting with fall flowers and seasonal plants. You can expect a wide variety of pumpkins as well.
The retail shop features clever displays and thoughtful Halloween gifts. Come inside and browse, and take your photo in the “upside down room.”
They also offer firewood by the bundle, half cord and full cord.
