J. McLaughlin to Double its Space in Greenwich

Good news for fans of J. McLaughlin at 45 East Putnam Ave. The women’s and men’s clothing and accessories store that has been in business at 45 East Putnam Ave in Greenwich for ten years is moving to a bigger location.

In fact, they play to shift to the east ever so slightly, moving into the space on the corner occupied by Thos. Moser furniture showroom at 55 East Putnam Ave.

“Approved as submitted.”

Those were the words of the Architectural Review Commission sign subcommittee on Monday morning at Town Hall after reviewing plans for signage and alterations to the exterior at the new location.

The smile on the face of J. McLaughlin President and CEO Steven Siegler was hard to miss when the commissioners responded positively to push out the glass vestibule at the entrance and remove the wood paneling that wraps the corner of the building’s exterior. J. McLaughlin plans to add an ADA compliant entrance as well.

The new space is approximately 2,000 sq ft, according to Melody Swanson of Larson and Paul architects out of New York City. She estimates the existing space at about 800 sq ft.
