Garden Catering to Open in Darien’s Corbin District

Garden Catering announced on Monday they plan to bring their popular hand-cut chicken nuggets to downtown Darien’s Corbin District.

The areas is located between Whole Foods and Darien’s Metro North Station.

The new development is led by a partnership between co-developers Darien residents David Genovese of Baywater Properties and Penny Glassmeyer of PG Properties.

Construction on the project began in October 2021. When completed, The Corbin District will include 116 apartments, 100,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and fitness studio space, and 85,000 square feet of Class A office space.

Garden Catering’s Darien will complement the existing base of retailers and dining establishments in that town, including Ten Twenty Post Oyster Bar & Bistro, Bodega, Parlor Pizza and Wine, and UCBC Bakery and Cafe.

Newly-signed tenants of The Corbin District include Hinoki of Greenwich, Maison d’Alexandre and Il Pastaficio.

“Tons of Garden Catering fans make the drive from Darien to our other shops, and we have been looking for years to find that perfect location in town,” said Frank Carpenteri Jr, CEO of Garden Catering. “The central location, the caliber of our co-tenants and the passion of David and Penny are what sold us on the Corbin District.”

“Garden Catering is beloved by so many people in our community, especially our younger residents.  Additionally, we have always had a focus upon locally-owned, unique businesses, and when the opportunity arose to work with Frank and Tina and their team, we became committed to making Garden Catering in Darien a reality,” said David Genovese. “My son, Ryan, loves Garden Catering and told me I had to make this happen, and not to screw it up.”

The new location is on track to open in early 2024.
