WASSERMAN: Greenwich Republicans, Here’s a Campaign Slogan to Try Out

Submitted by Svetlana Wasserman

I’d like to propose a campaign slogan for the Greenwich Republicans as they prepare for the municipal elections this November, and I think it fits very well for their 2024 presidential election campaign too. Consider: “Who Needs Experts?”

“Make America Great Again, Again” sounds pretty silly, and it sure flopped in 2020. But Who Needs Experts really captures what the party is about.

Nationally, Who Needs Experts, when it comes to overturning–on safety grounds–an abortion pill that the Food and Drug Administration approved 23 years ago and which has been the most widely used form of ending pregnancies without incident ever since?

Locally, Who Needs Experts like the Board of Education, its building committees and its architects when our local Republican party activists know best what the size of a new middle school should be, its design, its costs, its enrollment, and even how many bathrooms it should have?

Inside the schools, Who Needs Experts like teachers, librarians, and school psychologists?  We, the local Republican party, know best what teachers should be teaching, what books should be stocked in the library, what clubs should be offered, and what health services should be available. How can educators with their professional teaching degrees and years of experience possibly compare with our knowledge as parents about what is best for everyone else’s children?

When it comes to public health, Who Needs Experts like the ones at the Centers for Disease Control, the National Institutes of Health, and all those agencies filled with doctors and scientists promoting masks, social distancing and vaccines to stop the worst epidemic of our lifetimes? We have done the research ourselves and know that herd immunity, natural remedies and veterinary products like hydroxychloroquine are superior to dangerous FDA-approved treatments.

As for elections, Who Needs Experts like our bi-partisan Registrars of Voters who were awarded a grant to help them pay for modernizing our election infrastructure at a time when the state transition to early voting is expected to cost over $9 million? We know the truth: that Mark Zuckerberg will use this grant to change Republican votes to Democratic votes in Greenwich.

And with so-called “climate change,” Who Needs Experts like the 97% of actively publishing climate scientists who agree that climate change is a man-made problem that is posing an existential threat? We know that climate opportunists are creating a fake emergency to advance their radical agenda.

And here’s a bonus–think of all the money we can save by firing all the experts getting fat on taxpayer dollars–scientists, epidemiologists, engineers, inspectors. Who needs them when We Know Better?
