To the Editor:
Jill Oberlander does the hard work. I sat as a member of the Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation for years, and thus had the privilege to serve with Jill, and under her during her years as its Chair. This is a lady who came to every meeting having thoroughly researched the underlying facts on the items to come before us, and ready with a loaded quiver of potential solutions that she intended to propose and that she had carefully thought through.
For those of us who have attended the candidate debates, you saw it again.
Her opponent is a perfectly nice guy, but where he was espousing pie-in-the-sky principles and ideals that he believes in, Jill was identifying a full range of specific issues actually confronting the State, laying out the critical facts, and proposing her recommendations for how she would be suggesting they be resolved.
This is a lady who hunkers down and does the hard work. Just as she came to the debates fully prepared and loaded for bear, she will storm into her seat in the Connecticut State Senate ready for anything and everything that will be coming.
I know Jill, and that’s why I am voting for her. You should too.
