Raabe: Fred Camillo and the Republicans’ Best and Brightest for BOE

Submitted by Brian Raabe

The Republicans have posted their Board of Education selections as follows:

A youngster.

A Harbormaster by day. Man of Intrigue and Impersonations by night.

A former Fire Marshal whose brush with local fame is here:

And last, one accomplished professional who prompts a “which doesn’t belong and why?” reaction.

The BOE newbies.

First, a young man with career long politician aspirations.

Shouldn’t you continue your private sector work?

Come back in 30 years.

These roles require the application of a (relevant to the task) life of experience and judgement.

Super presumptuous to think now’s your time.

Maybe missing something, but in trying to figure out who you are, all that comes up is, “worked at parent’s restaurant, youngest RTM member. Culinary Institute.”

If one had to envision a path to effective BOE participation that wouldn’t be it.

Next up, Harbormaster.

Qualifications? FoF (Friend of Fred).

Maybe a good guy. Don’t know.

Professional educator qualifications – zero.

Work in a public or quasi-public domain at scale.

None.

Resume – FoF. Friend of Fred.

Over.

Oh, hold on, also does impersonations.

Judge’s Memorandum of Decision: What a Reasonable Jury Might Find in Kordick v Greenwich Dec 5, 2022

“To satisfy the tortious conduct element of his interference with contract claim Kordick has pointed to the conduct of two workers employed by the Camillo campaign, Paul Cappielli (“Cappielli”) and Justin Gonzales (“Gonzales”), who on behalf of the Camillo campaign engaged in a scheme to obtain the identity of the printer’s customer under false pretenses by pretending to represent the customer, Kordick, in order to trick the printer to turn over the customer invoice for the Trump/Camillo signs. As noted below, such conduct may be regarded by a reasonable jury as a wrongful misappropriation of Kordick’s identity and an invasion of his right to privacy.”

(link to court record here – https://civilinquiry.jud.ct.gov/DocumentInquiry/DocumentInquiry.aspx?DocumentNo=24021150)

The above material is from a lawsuit that ended with the town coughing up $650,000 to settle.

At that time Fred wanted to know who was posting signs around town tying him to Donald Trump (times have changed). The Board of Education pick Paul Cappiali, being a good soldier, called the printer pretending to represent the individual who ordered them to get an invoice copy and find out who that was.

The excerpt above related to the litigation speaks for itself.

Not sure that conduct is a great box to check for school board.

This is the shallow end of the pool Fred, and the Republicans are swimming in.

Former Fire Marshal. Again, there is this.

And there is rightly asking what shocking lack of judgement is being demonstrated by Fred Camillo and his Republican party here.

BOE?!

Stupefying.

Maybe we have reached the tipping point in consolidating power where Fred and the Republicans just don’t care what anyone thinks about the impersonator and this guy for BOE.

And last, to the accomplished professional with an Ivy League pedigree.

Have you read the paper?

Among friends, (speaking softly) are you really an infiltrator who will eventually crawl under the barbed wire to escape The Republic of North Fred?

Hard to understand.

You seem like a great candidate on paper. (Thanks for issuing your own press release – so Ivy!)

But have you seen how this group treats its own?

Like a President treats Harvard.

A few BET members went rogue on the budget this year and Harry Fisher big footed them with public humiliation.

FISHER: Three True Things. June 20, 2025

Just look at this week.

Leslie Tarkington and 20 years of Republican service.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

I may not agree with her politics, but she was in the game two decades.

A woman in her seat well in advance of the rot gripping the nation.

If I had a walking stick, I would tap it on the meeting room floor in your honor Ms. Tarkington and recognize your willingness to be in the arena for what you believe in.

Don’t agree. Deeply respect your engagement. Huzzah.

All in – three wildly perplexing (read wrong) picks – and a (misguided) winner.

And these are the folks the Republicans have offered for the Board of Educating our youth. Think deeply about what the record shows above and their judgement implicit in this slate.

This is the Republican’s best and brightest for your Board of Education.

A yute.

A ….. (I don’t want to get sued as this gentleman has threatened elsewhere – and as Fred has done willy nilly, seems a costly pattern, I’m out).

An impersonator.

A person one hopes comes to their senses.

What’s true nationally is true locally.

Crush dissent.

A party of one.

In DC, and in Greenwich.

In the fall, Fire Fred (and Harry Fisher).

And send Fred a bill for the legal fees from the BOE lawsuit the town has pursued against the town (not a typo) that’s led nowhere.

Any of you donkeys sure to be spewing replies on Facebook and plastering puke emojis in reaction to this letter know how many zeros are on that bill now?

More than the $650,000 we had to pay former Police Captain Kordick?

Maybe.

Anyway, a digression.

Fire Fred. (And Harry).

Fund schools.

Stop frivolous lawsuits and wrongful termination settlements.

Bring back dignity, maturity, and ethics.
