LETTER: Peter Sherr would be a divisive and dangerous voice of the radical right in Hartford.

Letter to the Editor:

I enthusiastically support Hector Arzeno for State Representative of District 151. His opponent, Peter Sherr, was a highly divisive member of the Greenwich Board of Education. Peter Sherr attacked Republicans and Democrats alike to promote a right-wing agenda.

His combative stance resulted in turnover of school superintendents that harmed our schools. Peter Sherr engineered the recent takeover of the Greenwich Republican Town Committee by an ultra-conservative fringe group who ousted many moderates who had served the Town with distinction.

He empowered radical ideologues who seek to undermine our schools, libraries and other valued institutions that have made our town the envy of the State. Peter Sherr would be a divisive and dangerous voice of the radical right in Hartford.

By contrast, Hector Arzeno has proven throughout his life as a graduate of Catholic University and was awarded an advanced management degree from Wharton School of Business, a successful international financial executive, a prominent member of the RTM and an active community volunteer, that he is a uniter, not a divider. Hector seeks to resolve problems facing the community by addressing climate change, improving technology and transportation infrastructure, as well as investing in diverse learning programs to prepare students for their chosen careers. Greenwich needs Hector’s voice of reason representing our town in the State Assembly. Please join me in voting for Hector Arzeno on November 8th or by absentee ballot.
