I am fortunate to know and work with Jackie Budkins for many years. Jackie and I served on many election committees and on the Republican Town Committee. It was on the RTC when I first became impressed with Jackie’s knowledge of the Town, her historical perspective to local and state politics, and her unyielding volunteerism. As a third generation Greenwich native, Jackie’s resume is very impressive.
After graduating from Greenwich Public Schools, Jackie attended Roger Williams University. Having deep roots in Greenwich, she decided to return to Greenwich to pursue her career and continue her commitment to volunteerism.
An entrepreneurial business woman in town where she has been serving as a realtor in town for the past 20 years, Jackie’s knowledge and interaction with many town departments is notable. Most notable is her familiarity with the Town Clerk’s office.
Having “grown up” literally and professionally within the Town Clerk’s office, her knowledge and use of this office is equally impressive. Her first hand experience using this office includes accessing land use records and applying the absentee ballot process.
Additionally, she has forged strong relationships with both patrons and the employees of the department.
I have known the Budkins family for many years. They are dedicated, hard working people who embrace the notion of “giving back” to their community. We would be very fortunate to elect Jackie as our Town Clerk. Jackie has everything the Town Clerk’s office needs as a leader – historical perspective, knowledge, professional experience and the work ethic that this position deserves.
