KRUMEICH: Himes has even temperament, vast knowledge, experience and unquestioned integrity

I am writing to support Jim Himes’ re-election to Congress. We are privileged to be represented by a man widely recognized as an outstanding Congressman and a preeminent expert in foreign affairs who is also dedicated to his constituents and ensuring that federal programs, services and funds flow back into our communities.

Jim is widely respected for his even temperament, vast knowledge and experience and his unquestioned integrity.

In these turbulent times of hyper-partisanship Jim is the calm voice often called upon to share his balanced analysis of the issues of the day. In these times when democracy itself is imperiled here and abroad Jim has taken a leadership role against the autocrats that threaten our freedom and the peace of the world. He serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Jim also serves on the House Committee on Financial Services and is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, International Development, and Monetary Policy.

On a recent trip to Ukraine Jim demonstrated unfailing support for the Ukrainian people and endured an eleven hour train journey to this war-torn country to meet with President Zelenskyy and bolster the cause of defense against oppression.

At home Jim has confronted the anti-democratic forces that fomented the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol with unflagging patriotism and unbridled optimism for the future of our country.

Jim is focused on one of the most pressing economic issues we face: the growing prosperity gap between the wealthiest Americans and everyone else. Jim is the Chair of the House Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth. We are very fortunate to be represented by Jim Himes in the United States House of Representatives.

The stakes are too important this election to pass up an opportunity to support Jim Himes. Please join me in voting for Jim Himes on November 8 or earlier by absentee ballot.
