Indivisible Greenwich: Camillo’s Comment on Slow Legislative Session At Odds with Record

Letter submitted by the Indivisible Greenwich steering committee, June 5, 2019

State Rep. Fred Camillo’s recent remark (as reported in the Greenwich Time article, “Camillo: ‘Nothing is getting passed’ this legislative session” May 31, 2019) is at odds with the record we have been monitoring.

The current legislative session has passed significant legislation that will benefit the lives of so many in Connecticut.

From raising the minimum wage to paid family leave, multiple gun safety bills, multiple voting rights bills, including early voting, extending the statute of limitation for certain sexual assaults, the CT Trust Act, raising the legal age to purchase tobacco products, and so much more, this legislature has been incredibly impactful.
