Next Tuesday is Election Day in Greenwich, and I have a special request of the electorate; let’s change things up. Anthony Moor and Rachel Khanna are both residents with experience in government, having already donated time to Greenwich through the RTM and as State Representative (Khanna). They both have varied backgrounds and have lived in different places expanding their understanding of what makes for a properly governed town. With this broad view, they both deserve your vote!
The Democratic BET candidates are basically an all-star team, loaded with experience, competence and energy. They alone could establish a long term planning process, but in concert with the Selectmen’s office could put Greenwich on a new and properly strategic footing. Choose all six to make this happen!
The Dems on the BOE have always been keenly interested in the success of our schools, never bending to politics. When an R resigned from the BOE this past winter, the D’s replaced that position with another R.
Finally, there are 9 golf courses (private and public) in Greenwich, so many of you should understand the analogy I present. Every 15 years or so, the greens keepers at the majority of these courses are replaced. Why? After a period of time they become blind to the changes needed to keep the course in proper shape. A fresh set of eyes are brought in to see what needs pruning, what trees need to be removed and replaced by younger specimens to keep the course playing properly. They remove dead wood and establish updated maintenance programs to keep the course healthy.
It’s long past time for this kind of change in Greenwich!
Democrats, Unaffiliated, Independents and forward looking Republicans, please come out on Tuesday, November 4th, and vote to put an end to over 100 years of governance from a single perspective, Republican. Vote only row A for a Democratic slate that can put this town on proper footing going forward.
Thank you.
John Cooper
