Camillo: Proud to Endorse Fazio for Governor

Submitted by Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo

I am proud to support Ryan Fazio for Governor of Connecticut.

I have known Ryan for many years—long before he became a State Senator and long before he entered public life. I first got to know Ryan when he was a young kid playing baseball in Greenwich, and even had the opportunity to umpire some of his games. Over the years, I watched him grow into an impressive young man with strong character, a sharp mind, and a genuine commitment to his community. Even at a young age, he was driven by a keen interest in public policy, and that focus has continued to the present day where he has been, and continues to be, a leading voice for economic competitiveness, and smart energy policies in the State of Connecticut.

A talented and gifted communicator, Ryan has  represented Greenwich in the Connecticut state legislature where he has had the backs of not only those he represents, but of every municipality in the state that prides itself on local decision-making. He has written, introduced, and gained passage of several laws that have saved Connecticut residents money as well as put a spotlight on Connecticut’s problems with affordability, escalating costs, and economic competitiveness while offering well-thought-out solutions.

As a former state legislator myself, I have had the great opportunity to serve alongside some impressive public servants over the years, both Republicans and Democrats, but I can honestly say that Ryan is that rare combination of superior intellect, great demeanor, and charisma. I have rarely witnessed the excitement that people have when listening to him speak. As any public official will  concede,  being able to deliver a message is just as important as the details in that message. If you saw his debate performance the other night, you will know what I mean. Ryan just doesn’t show up, he delivers.

Ryan Fazio is that rare generational candidate that not only captures our imagination, he is able to make us believe because he has a track record to prove it and a vision to sustain it.

Ryan is not only Connecticut’s future, I truly believe he is our present.
