Camillo: For BET, Fassuliotis Is Uniquely Qualified

Letter to the editor submitted by State Rep Fred Camillo (R-151), Aug 27, 2017

To the Editor:

In this year’s Republican primary on September 12th for the Board of Estimate & Taxation (BET), one of my six votes will be cast for Karen Fassuliotis.

Karen is uniquely qualified for a seat on our Town’s finance board. Endorsed by our Greenwich Republican Town Committee (RTC), Karen is a current Representative Town Meeting ( RTM ) member and Vice-Chair of the RTC. This has provided her with an  intimate knowledge of the workings of our Town government, where she has actively participated in our Town’s budget process. Karen is a practicing attorney and has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology, the latter of which is invaluable as our Town continues to deal with soil contamination and remediation issues.

Skill sets are always a top consideration for me when looking at candidates for a position such as a seat on the BET, and Karen more than fits the bill. Her experience, her service in town government, and her leadership skills are all assets for the BET and the Town.

Lastly, as a 50 year resident, she has a deep understanding of Greenwich and of all of our diverse neighborhoods, which means she can, and will, hit the ground running when she is elected to the BET.

Please join me on September 12th in voting for my friend, Karen Fassuliotis, for the BET.
