Barro: Vote for Bob Chaney for Board of Education

Submitted by Jen Barro, Greenwich

I’m proud to support Bob Chaney, one of the endorsed candidates for Board of Education (BOE). If you’ve attended a BOE or finance board meeting, you’ve probably seen Bob there testifying—often with his two sons by his side—advocating thoughtfully and respectfully for our schools.

Bob has called Greenwich home for more than 15 years and has two kids in the public schools. He brings his experience as a stay-at-home dad and his career as a social worker to the job. Currently, Bob serves on our town legislature (RTM), is Vice Chair of the Julian Curtiss Building Committee, and a member of the Greenwich Alliance for Education Board. Bob has been active in the PTA at every level—from Co-President at Julian Curtiss Elementary to roles on the Central Middle School and PTA Council boards.

Bob first got involved in the Julian Curtiss Feasibility Committee after the lack of building accessibility hit home for him. His son had injured his leg and the building lacked an elevator. So Bob made sure his son could continue attending elementary school by carrying him up and down the stairs. Bob feels strongly that we should ensure all our school buildings are safe, sustainable, and ADA-accessible. If you’ve ever met Bob, you know he listens, collaborates, and leads with heart.

Please cast your vote for Bob Chaney for BOE. You will find him on Row A. Early voting runs October 20 to November 2 at Greenwich Town Hall.
