Healing Touch Team Supports Parents of Premature Babies

The Healing Touch Team recently partnered with The Tiny Miracles Foundation to offer complimentary biofield therapy sessions to parents of premature babies at the Salt Cave of Darien.

The October 1 event, “The Power of Healing Touch,” provided parents with individual 30-minute sessions in a peaceful setting. The program recognized the tremendous stress and emotional demands families can experience during and after a premature birth.

Healing Touch is an evidence based, non-invasive wellness practice using light touch or working just above the body.   Research on Healing Touch and related biofield therapies provide relief from pain, stress, anxiety and promote healing and relaxation.

“Parents of premature babies give so much of themselves to their children,” said Kathleen Bacchi, RN, CHTP, of the Healing Touch Team. “We wanted to create a space where they could pause, breathe, relax and receive some care themselves.”

The event was sponsored by The Tiny Miracles Foundation, a Connecticut nonprofit dedicated to supporting families with premature babies. The organization provides free support services to families in Fairfield and New Haven Counties, both during the NICU experience and after babies return home. (The Tiny Miracles Foundation)
