To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Breast Cancer Alliance announced a flag raising and ceremony with First Selectman Fred Camillo at town hall at 9:00am on October 1.
The flag raising will be followed by a free symposium from 10:00am to 11:30am, titled, “The Next Chapter. Life After Breast Cancer. Finding Your New Normal.”
The symposium is hosted by Breast Cancer Alliance and sponsored by Lilly. It will be moderated by BCA president Lori Kron
The program includes audience Q&A and time to connect with the panelists.

Brooke Dumain, a Columbia University School of Social Work graduate, specializes in trauma, loss, depression, anxiety and PTSD. After her own breast cancer diagnosis in May 2024, she now draws on both clinical expertise and personal experience to help patients through treatment, recovery and rebuilding their relationship with body and identity.
