Wallace Center Transforms into Tropical Paradise for “Life’s a Beach” Luncheon

On a recent Friday afternoon, the main room of the Wallace Center (formerly the Greenwich Senior Center) was transformed into a tropical paradise for a festive “Life’s a Beach” themed luncheon.

The event, hosted by the Commission on Aging’s Wallace Center, brought together members of the Wallace Center for an afternoon of fun, food, and entertainment.

Commission on Aging (COA) staff, Board Members, Selectperson Janet Stone McGuigan and other dedicated volunteers helped serve a delicious three-course meal accompanied by a tropical mocktail.

Guests enjoyed live music and were encouraged to dress in beachwear for a lively costume contest, where titles of “Beach Babe” and “Beach Bum” were awarded.

During their remarks, COA Chairman Steve Katz and Director Lori Contadino reflected on 50 years of dedicated service to Greenwich’s senior community.

They also shared an exciting glimpse into the future, highlighting the major renovation planned for the Wallace Center’s location at 299 Greenwich Avenue, scheduled to begin in 2026.
