The Putnam Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted their annual Essay Contest Awards Ceremony and Tea for the finalists of the American History Essay Contest at the historic Putnam Cottage on East Putnam Avenue on January 7, 2025. The topic of the essay for grades 5th-8th was “Enjoying a New Kind of Tea Party” and “Patriots of the American Revolution” was the topic of the essay for grades 9th-12th.
There were six student winners of the Putnam Hill DAR American History Essay Contest.

On Wednesday, February 26th, from 1:00pm-4:00pm, Putnam Cottage is having an Open House to commemorate Israel Putnam’s skirmish with the British and the public is welcome to attend for tours and refreshments.
Putnam Hill DAR is on a membership drive and genealogy help can be given to trace to a patriot or person who aided in the American Revolution, if interested. Fun activities are planned throughout the year.
The Chapter also has a Children of the American Revolution group for students age 1 to 22 years.
