The Empowerment & Adventure Leadership Program for Girls Starts in September, Register Today

Announcing a new non-profit whose mission is to empower teen girls in grades 6 through 12 to become confident, emotionally stable, physically fit, financially intelligent, self-reliant and successful young women.

The Empowerment & Adventure Leadership Program is a unique and supportive program where young women, grades 6 through 12, strengthen and expand their personal power to confront today’s challenges and achieve their dreams.

Comprised of successful women, the program helps empower aspiring young women to confront today’s challenges like bullying, and empower them with the inspiration, motivation, and tools to achieve their dreams and become successful leaders themselves.

The program, comprised of five two-hour sessions at YWCA Greenwich on 259 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich offers a combination of mind and body empowerment.

YWCA Greenwich’s Michelle Pennino, Director of Member Services, explained the importance of The Empowerment & Adventure Leadership Program, saying, “Bringing inspiring speakers and sports performance leaders together with young women in our community, sets a positive example and shows them that they can achieve their dreams.”

Program highlights include:

• Gigi Gaudet to speak on Overcoming Adversity & Achieving Goals
• Dr. Abigail Smith to speak on careers for women in the sciences and lead a Kinesiology puzzle
• Exercise classes lead by Evolution PT, the leader in sports performance, “Functional Strength & Conditioning”
• Recent Wall Street Executive of American Express and now Entrepreneur/Business Owner to present: “Resilience: Adversity is Your Secret Weapon”
• Psychotherapist to offer strategies to deal with bullying and cliques and speak on building self-esteem
• Kristen Jacks, Educator and Author of “Money in Your Twenties”, a must read for young adults and those that love them, to present “Financial Literacy”
• Certified dietician to offer nutritional guidance to prevent anorexia, prevent obesity, enable healthy lifestyles and further “Nutrition to Improve Sports Performance”
• Boxerina combination kickboxing and ballerina moves lead by former world premier ballerina
• Climax: Real Outdoor Rock Climbing led by professional guides
• Sixth Sunday, Outdoor Adventure lead by professional EMS guides at “The Gunks”

The Empowerment & Adventure Leadership Program will take place on a series of five Sundays, beginning September 17 from 2 PM to 4 PM at YWCA Greenwich, 259 East Putnam Avenue (0.3 miles south from Greenwich High School on same side of Putnam Avenue). There will be a Meet & Greet available for teens and parents featuring upcoming speakers and specialists on Sunday, September 10, starting at 2:00 PM at YWCA Greenwich.
