Sea Scouts to Hold Open House at Milbrook Club on Sept 10

The Sea Scouts, a program of Scouting America is holding an open house on Wednesday Sept 10 at Milbrook Club from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Sea Scout Ship 1 of Greenwich provides opportunities for young men and women, ages 14-20, (or 13 year olds who have completed 8th grade) to learn new skills, build a community, and become a leader, all while embarking on exciting adventures at sea. 

The program existed for more than a century, but was idle in Greenwich until 2024.

Sea Scouts was founded in 1912 and grew by establishing units (called Ships) all across the country on oceans, bays, rivers, and lakes. For over 100 years, Sea Scouts has promoted better citizenship and improved boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, seamanship, community service, social experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.
